Watercolour Wins Public's Choice Award
Ogdensburg, New York 26 September 2012

Pond Life 3, one of my two paintings on display over the summer at the Frederic Remington Art Museum in Ogdensburg New York, has won the Public's Choice Award! Visitors to the Museum and those who viewed the exhibit on-line had the opportunity to vote for their favourite piece. The prize was a framed print on canvas of one of Frederic Remington's most famous paintings, The End of the Day.

Celebrating the award are, from left to right, my husband, Glenn MacDonell, Frederic Remington Art Museum Curator, Laura A. Foster, myself (holding the painting with Laura) and my son, Adam MacDonell.

Two Paintings Selected for Juried Art Exhibit
Ogdensburg, New York 12 May - 16 September 2012

Two of my watercolour paintings have been selected for the Frederic Remington Art Museum's 2012 Members' Juried Art Exhibit, at the Museum in Ogdensburg, New York. The show will run from 12 May - 16 September 2012. These paintings have never been displayed previously. The art shows sponsored by the Museum are always interesting and of high quality and certainly worth a visit, as is a tour of the Museum itself. Ogdensburg is less than an hour's drive from Ottawa. Don't forget your passport, if you go! There will be online voting for the "public's choice", once the Exhibit opens. For details about FRAM, Ogdensburg and the exhibit, click here.

Original Abstracts in Miniature

I have launched a project to create unique original abstracts in miniature. Each miniature is signed, titled and mounted on complementary 5" x 7" cardstock.

Take a look at the miniatures in their own section accessible from the main Gallery page or by clicking here. I am continuing to create new miniatures (more than 90 can be seen now) and more are being added over time to their own section of the gallery.
